WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Wars. So here what I have read/are reading/will be reading.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What’s going on with me this past week:

I have had a repeat of last week. I have barely read anything. I have been so busy.  I had Open House for my older two kids (5th and 7th grade) on Friday. Didn’t get home until past 7pm. Spent Saturday and Sunday getting last minute stuff done for back to school. The big day was Monday. I started my day at 5:30 am and didn’t sit down until 8:30 pm. I have also had a hard time adjusting to getting up at 5:30. Put it this way, I fell asleep on my couch at 8:30 pm last night. I am usually asleep by 11:00 pm. So, yeah, I haven’t been reading. I plan on doing that after I type out a book review.

What I am currently reading:

Second Chance At Two Love Lane

From USA Today bestselling author Kieran Kramer, comes Second Chance at Two Love Lane, a fast-paced tale about the intoxicating effects of fame and what happens when a past romance is rekindled behind the silver screen.

Sometimes love is waiting in the second act…

In her professional career, Ella Mancini plays matchmaker at Two Love Lane but, in her personal life, she takes the stage at the Dock Street Theatre. Now she has a chance at a new role in a Hollywood movie that happens to be filming in Charleston—one that features a big-name actress, Samantha Drake. Long ago, Ella passed up a major audition while awaiting a marriage proposal. Not only didn’t she get the role; she never got the ring, either. Instead, her boyfriend Hank went on to become a huge film star…leaving her, and all her dreams, behind.

But now Hank’s back in Charleston, cast as the male lead in the same movie Ella’s in. In spite of the dramatic tension off-screen, he and Ella try to stay cool onset. But when their old feelings start to heat up—at the same time leading-lady Samantha tries to play cupid—all bets are off. How can Hank convince Ella, after all this time, that she’s the one he really wants to be with in real life—and that some happy, rom-com endings really can come true?

I’ve only read the prologue of this book. So, I can’t give what I think about it. The prologue was good and sweet. I am hoping that the book lives up to it. Second Chance at Two Love Lane is available now. Be on the lookout for my review by the end of the week.

What I finished reading:

Don't Look Back (Unbroken Heroes, #6)

Click on the picture for Amazon link

In DON’T LOOK BACK by Dawn Ryer, she is the only woman worth fighting – or dying – for…

Shadow Ops Agent Thais Sinclair has sworn off falling in love for good. It’s what’s kept her calculated, steady, and on-task in a world dominated by men. She needs nothing and no one but her own wits and strength to guide her. But when she’s slated to shadow the one man who could reveal their entire operation, all bets are off.

Dunn Bateson, illegitimate son of a Southern debutante, has always had to fight harder than the rest to get what he wants. Now, the last thing he needs is Thais following his every move. She is so strong, sly, seductive. . . No woman has ever captivated him so completely. Thais may only have room for her mission in her heart, but is Dunn up to the challenge of showing her that she’s worth every risk he is willing to take?

I was NOT a fan of this book. It is rare that I do not like books but this one had me beyond confused. Don’t Look Back is available now. Be on the lookout for my review within the next couple of days.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

Last week was a whirlwind. I had a mammogram (my annual) and I had an ultrasound done on my thyroid. Long story short, I have Hashimoto’s Disease and my thyroid was enlarged. My Dr wanted to make sure that it was alright. And it was. Which was a huge relief. I also started back to school shopping last week. Mr. Z’s shopping is halfway done. I won’t find out what is on Miss B’s list until we go to the open house next Friday. They start school on Monday. So yeah, cutting it close. Miss R’s list is very easy and I will be picking up this week. Also, if you don’t see much posts from me, BFA in WoW is now live. So yeah….lol.

What I am currently reading:

Carbon Replacements (The McAllister Justice Series #4)

(click on the picture for Amazon link)

The killer held a knife to her throat—the ultimate decision locked within a dark and deviant gaze.

Determined and dedicated, forensic pathologist Remie Tallin validates her talent by discerning a victim’s last moments of life. Returning to Portland signified her new beginning where a psychopathic stalker designates her a pawn in a seductive game of intrigue.

The lines between predator and prey blur in hunting a medical genius bent on resetting the laws of nature. Evidence has never failed to point Remie in the right direction, yet conflicting discoveries mock the legal system and defy the scientific arena for clarification.

Detective McAllister’s return from leave includes a new assignment along with a partner well versed in subtle sarcasm and innuendos. Discovering the new medical examiner unconscious at the scene of a grisly murder forces him to unite with his brothers against a world of chaos where reality shifts according to a psychopath’s desire.

I started Carbon Replacements late last night. So far I like it. Romantic thrillers are among some of my favorite books to read. Hopefully, it continues to be good. Carbon Replacements will not be published until 8-19-18. So be on the lookout for my review on that date.

What I finished reading:

Foundryside (Founders, #1)

(click on the picture for Amazon link)

In a city that runs on industrialized magic, a secret war will be fought to overwrite reality itself–the first in a dazzling new fantasy series from City of Stairs author Robert Jackson Bennett.

Sancia Grado is a thief, and a damn good one. And her latest target, a heavily guarded warehouse on Tevanne’s docks, is nothing her unique abilities can’t handle.

But unbeknownst to her, Sancia’s been sent to steal an artifact of unimaginable power, an object that could revolutionize the magical technology known as scriving. The Merchant Houses who control this magic–the art of using coded commands to imbue everyday objects with sentience–have already used it to transform Tevanne into a vast, remorseless capitalist machine. But if they can unlock the artifact’s secrets, they will rewrite the world itself to suit their aims.

Now someone in those Houses wants Sancia dead, and the artifact for themselves. And in the city of Tevanne, there’s nobody with the power to stop them.

To have a chance at surviving—and at stopping the deadly transformation that’s under way—Sancia will have to marshal unlikely allies, learn to harness the artifact’s power for herself, and undergo her own transformation, one that will turn her into something she could never have imagined.

I loved this book. It is an Italian based dark fantasy/steampunk that was fantastic. I cannot even begin to tell you all how much I liked this book. If you like dark fantasy mixed with steampunk, pick this book up when it is published. Publication date is August 21st, 2018. Be on the lookout for my review then.
