Goodreads Synopsis:Sentenced to death, Eilidh ran—away from faerie lands, to the streets of Perth, Scotland. Just as she has grown accustomed to exile, local police discover a mutilated body outside the abandoned church where she lives. Recognizing the murder as the work of one of her own kind, Eilidh must choose: flee, or learn to tap into the forbidden magic that cost her everything.

I liked this book. Of course, anything with faeries in it, I am sure to love. But this book was very dark. I almost didn’t sympathize with Eilidh initially, but the more I read, the more I began to understand her. Her accidental awakening of Monroe’s druid power was unreal, and I felt terrible for her. Only because you could see how starved for the attention, she was.

Quintin Monroe came across as a bumbling oaf. I am unsure if the author meant it to come across that way, but it did. I did get a few giggles out of certain scenes. The scene with Eilidh stripping down in front of him was hilarious because she was innocent.

The mystery part of the book wasn’t a mystery because you knew who was doing the killing. And let’s say, about that, poetic justice.

I will reread this book and read the other books in the series. Sure thing. From what I looked into, the series gets!! Can’t wait to read them!!!
