WWW Wednesday: NOvember 4th 2020

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Miss R doesn’t need glasses. She had her appointment on Wednesday (after I posted last week’s WWW Wednesday). Her vision was perfect. The Dr was super nice and said her vision is great and that she probably won’t need glasses until she’s 40. He also was irritated with her Dr for not putting down what type of test they did (they have two ways of checking: a handheld device or the old fashioned way). I was irritated because she was super stressed out over the appointment.

Hurricane Zeta ripped through my area on Thursday. We ended up losing power Thursday morning. Thankfully, it was turned back on around 12:30 Friday afternoon. I am thankful that no one got seriously hurt. We did end up losing all the food in our fridge and the food on the door in the freezer. Nothing out of our chest freezer. The kids didn’t miss too much from school either (thank you virtual learning!!).

Election madness has taken over my household. For the sake of keeping things civil on the blog I am not revealing who I voted for. But I will say that I think I made the best choice based on research that I did on both candidates. We let Mr. Z and Miss B stay up and watch some of the coverage with each us. They had so many questions about how everything worked. Miss B, particularly, because she will be voting in the next election. BK and I explained the difference between electoral and popular votes. Miss B told us that her school did a “pretend” vote and the kids will learn the results when a president is elected.

Speaking of Miss B, she has spirit week next week at school. She is super excited (first spirit week in high school). The school has some cute days planned out. I am really looking forward to Tacky Tourist Tuesday and and Throwback Thursday ( she plans on going to school in 90’s grunge….lol).

BK and I haven’t been watching much TV, well besides election coverage. I am hoping to remedy that. I need to watch the next episode of Utopia.

I am still blowing through books. Also, I managed to snag a paperback copy of Cinder and a hardcover of W.A.R.P. . Mr Z’s school library had a cart out with duplicates of the book when I took him for school pictures yesterday. She told us to take what we wanted. I was thrilled about Cinder!!! That has been on my TBR for a long time.

What I am currently reading:

Flower (The Green Princess, #1)

Kitrin always assumed her overprotective parents were just paranoid—until the trees started talking to her.

For sixteen years, Kitrin has longed for freedom from her parents’ secluded manor. However, one day her emotions trigger flowers to bloom, roots to grasp, and trees to bend. Unable to control her unexplained abilities, she finds an anchor in a young man with sad eyes and his own secrets. A man who sends sparks through her, but who might be tied to her destruction.

Palace outcast and nephew of the king, Prince Bryce lives under the shadow of his father’s execution for treason. To escape the toxic court, he takes comfort in the company of the kindhearted Kitrin. However, as the mysteries in both their pasts are revealed, he realizes the girl he loves is someone his family wants dead

I recently finished reading:

The Burnt Sunset (The Burnt Sunset, #2)

Solstice Dayton discovers three truths in the desolation of the Firegale. First, the government let everyone she knew burn. Second, survivors were doomed to decay in the daze virus. And third, her only hope was to rise from the ashes and evolve.

Fans of Divergent, The Hunger Games, and Percy Jackson will devour this young adult mash-up of dystopian, apocalyptic, fantasy, and science fiction worlds.

Most will burn. Many will succumb to the daze virus. And only a few will evolve.

Book 2 in The Burnt Sunset Series.

The fire rose as the sun set on humanity.

What books I think I’ll read next:

A Special Obsession (The Men of Crestview #1)

Rule Number One: Never let anyone get too close…

Weston Wyndham has more money on his tattooed wrist than I’ll ever have in my bank account.

Drunk, he was gorgeous, wicked, sexy, an inked god.
Sober, he is the most arrogant man ever.

Will I let him order me around like one of his servants? Hell no. He’s out of his mind if he thinks I’ll ever go out with him. I don’t care how rich he is, or that he drives that Ferrari or a fancy truck.
My walls are there for a reason … and they were built to last.

But he’s relentless, hot, and it turns out he likes his girls a little feisty.
Giving in doesn’t have to mean disaster—unless I break my number one rule.

Special O’Malley is a handful. With a name like that, she ought to be. Sassy as hell, bossing me around, but damn if I don’t deserve it.

My money usually attracts women … let’s me have my way with them. Not Special. She doesn’t give a damn about it … or me.

But there’s more than one stubborn player in this game. I’m not giving up any time soon … at least not until I’m between her thighs, making her moan. And those concrete walls of hers … I have news for her. Concrete crumbles when you strike at the right place.

  1. It sounds like it has been a mixed bag for you over the last week. Glad everyone is safe and sorry that you had some things to deal with involving the hurricane. All anyone can do is research the candidates and vote the way you feel is best. There will always be some people who are happy and those that are not, that is what a democracy is all about. I hope you love Cinder. I read the first two in the series and keep saying I need to get back to it. Enjoy your upcoming reading Jolie.
