  1. Actually, I think Drew just likes to rant for click-bait and it works. His rants against other bloggers is exactly what he is flailing his arms against. If every book blogger has the right to blog about what they want and to write reviews the way they choose to do so, then why does he get to get on his high horse and tear them down every other week. I often reference other reviews because there are times when reviews follow patterns. One person writes something and soon everyone – namely sheeple – are writing exactly the same thing, right down to the using the same adjectives. If I have a differing viewpoint, I might reference those multiple adjectives. That is what an actual review is about. Drew is popular because of his ravings. It’s what he gets off on but I, for one, am growing tired of his bitchiness. In fact, I actually unfollowed him several weeks ago because his ranting were more frequent than his reviews.

    1. I do agree with several points his blog made, Mackey. I have seen authors tear into reviewers because they don’t get 4-5 star ratings. A personal friend of mine reads secular Christian books and had an author do that to her. All because she pointed out that there were scenes that didn’t meet “Christian” values (cussing and pre-martial sex…if I remember right). I have read several blog posts where YA readers were bashed. I have also read blog posts where the authors have been bashed. There was one post where it wasn’t even a book review, it was an author bashing. So he does have some valid points in this blog.

But, I can also see where you are coming from. There is too much negativity in the world. I do look at other reviews when writing my own. Usually because I am lazy and don’t want to browse my Kindle for name spellings..etc. I can say for certain I am not a sheeple. Never have been and never will be. I write what I feel about the book. Screw the pattern. I don’t like a book, I am not going to gloss it up because everyone else is.
