WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Wars. So here what I have read/are reading/will be reading. Also, I will let y’all know what has gone on in my life this past week.
I know that I skipped last week’s WWW Wednesday. We went on vacation. Camping. Which ended up being a bust. Why? Because Miss R ended up getting heat exhaustion (it was in the 90’s and humid). Then Mr. Z started getting sick from the heat. Then BK. So, we decided to leave the campground and go home. So, yeah. A huge waste of money and a lesson learned. Do not go camping in NC in the summer.
This week has been all about VBS for Mr. Z and Miss R. The church that we are planning on attending has an excellent VBS program. Mr. Z has been loving it. Monday, they went to the Salvation Army and sorted food. Tuesday, they went to CCM (Cooperative Christian Ministries) and helped weed/take care of the grounds. Today, they are going to a horse farm and will be doing chores there. Tomorrow, they will be filling backpacks full of food for the Backpack Program (click here for a better explanation)
Miss R has been doing crafts and she has also been watching the older kids put on skits that explain God’s will on a level that they can understand. She has been having a blast.
Miss B has been home. If I had known that she could have volunteered as a counselor for VBS, I would have sent her. But, I didn’t but I will be doing it next summer. She has been spending quality time playing SIMS 4 on her XBox 1 and watching YouTube. Tomorrow, she gets her retainer back. She is not happy with me about that…lol.
Enough about me. Here’s what I have been up to reading-wise this past week:
What I am currently reading:
“Bruised, bloody, and barely dressed, she knew it was over. She had no doubt the Vikings would search for her if she tried to run—especially now, with their companion lying dead. It would be dark soon, and she had no idea where she could go or hide. Jilliand knew they would come for her. The Vikings were not likely to let this go—especially it being an attack by a woman. She was defeated. Weak and shaking, she stared at the man’s body. I think tonight I die. ”
I started reading this book last night. It’s interesting but I am not sure if I like it or not. I’ll save my thoughts on it for the review.
What I finished reading:
Cottonbloom is the perfect place for starting over, finding your way back home–and falling head over heels. . .
Ella Boudreaux has a lot to prove to her family, friends, and foes–and to herself. So when her marriage ends she decides to invest her energy and money into a place that brings back some of Ella’s happiest memories: the Abbott brothers’ garage. Maybe, if she puts her mind to it, she can teach skeptical, stubborn Mack Abbott how to make the business a true success. Which would be a lot easier if the hunky mechanic didn’t make her motor run quite so fast…and hot.
Mack was furious when his brother, Ford, sold his share of the business. He’s in no rush to team up with a wealthy divorcee who shows up to the garage in stilettos–and the longest, sexiest legs he’s seen in forever. But Ella’s grit and determination won’t quit…and soon Mack can see that she’s been down a few rough roads herself. Neither Mack nor Ella can deny the fierce attraction that’s revving up between them. Could it be that true love has been in the backseat all along…and they’ve finally found the key.
I liked this book but I wish I had read at least one book in the series before I read this one. There is so much backstory that you need to read the previous books. This book will not be published until July 31st, 2018. So be on the lookout for the review!!!
What I am reading next:
Inconclusive Evidence: This is one of many books in my backlog of author requests. I was very interested in the blurb. I am looking forward to reading this book. Review should be up fairly soon.
Rough Ride: I had been on the lookout for this book. I have reviewed the last 2 books (didn’t review book 1) and liked them. Review will be up by the end of July.
Deep Cover: I was approached by the publisher to review this book. I am not a huge fan of Army/Navy/Marine/Airforce romances but the blurb caught my attention on this one. Review will be up by the end of July.
So that’s it. Be on the lookout for the reviews of all these books in the near future.
