October wrap up

October wasn’t very nice to me. Nope, not at all. I am hoping that November will be a little kinder and a lot less busy.

I became a permanent fixture at my kids’ pediatrician this month. The receptionist and I had a running joke about me needing to rent a room there. That was how often I was there. My youngest went into her 4-year appointment with a cough and came out with walking pneumonia and double ear infections. My oldest had an ear infection and she ended up having an allergic reaction to a z-pack. That was just the first week. Oh, and did I mention that my SO was away on business? Yeah. It kinda sucked ass big time.

2nd week of October, we find out that my oldest has not been turning in her homework and had zeros for everything. She went from an A to an F. I spent 3 days trying to get in touch with the teacher so she could redo the homework and actually get a grade instead of a zero. On top of that, I am being told that my 4-year-old is having discipline problems at preschool. So not only do I have to sort out my 12-year-olds problems but now my 4-year-olds. So it is safe to say that week 2 sucked

Week 3 starts off with a bang. I was at my 12-year old’s med check and an F2  tornado hits where I live. It touched down less than a mile from my house. So, I was stuck at the Dr’s office 45 mins past my appointment. Then it took me another 45 mins to drive home. Luckily for us, we had no damage to the house. Just a few downed branches and the power was out for a day. But other areas got hit a lot worse and they are still trying to get the power back on. The schools were on a 2-hour delay from Wednesday through Friday.

Of course, with everything that was going on, I didn’t really get to read books and I fell way behind on my TBR list. Way behind. I did get my non-NetGalley books reviewed, for the most part. Which I am thankful for. But now I have to start on my NetGalley books and oh boy, am I backed up. I am hoping that I catch up soon and then I will be able to get ahead of my TBR pile.

Anyways, enough chatting. Here is my list of books for this month. Just keep in mind that some of these books I read months ago.
